Born in Milan in 1963, Carlo Pesenti holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Milan Polytechnic and a Master in Economics & Management from the Bocconi University. After graduating and completing a period of work and study abroad, Pesenti worked in different areas in the Italcementi Group. Having acted as Joint General Manager, in 2004 he was appointed Italcementi Chief Executive Officer. He has been Deputy Chairman of Ciments Français since April 2007.

Carlo Pesenti is Chief Executive Officer of Italcementi S.p.A. and General Manager of the holding Italmobiliare S.p.A. In addition to his posts within the Group, he is a member of the Boards of Directors of a number of other leading companies including Unicredit, Mediobanca and RCS MediaGroup. In 2003 he was appointed to the Executive Committee of Confindustria. In the two-year period 2006-2008, he was Co-Chairman of the Italian-Egyptian Business Council. He is a member of the Italy-India CEO Forum.
