Since Marzac realized their first investment with Rondol Technology in November 2009, the company focus has been on healthcare related applications (diagnostics imaging, targeted drug delivery, controlled drug release, regenerative medicine, etc) that position the company in high added value, niche market sectors where sales can be developed in a sustainable mode.

Micro machines are often necessary for pharma companies because very small quantities of high value active material are likely to be available in early stages of projects and minimisation of wastage is a key consideration.

Locating a partner with both technical knowledge and test resources was critical to Evonik allowing them to produce advanced prototypes and small scale manufacturing runs.

The resultant equipment based on the Rondol 10mm twin screw compounding extruder was built to good manufacturing practice (GMP) and installed at Evonik Pharma Polymers in Darmstadt in March 2011.
